INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) takes care of its Indiana sports fans — with a special event flight strategy that is continuing into 2025.
American Airlines and Southwest Airlines will both offer additional nonstop flights to Atlanta (ATL) specifically for the College Football Playoff National Championship game featuring the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
On Sunday, Jan. 19, American Airlines will depart from Indy at 11:45 a.m. and return on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 10:35 a.m. Southwest will depart at noon on Sunday, Jan. 19, with two returning nonstop flights at noon and 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan.21.
The Indianapolis Airport Authority focused on special event flights in 2024, securing additional nonstop, round trip flights for Indianapolis-hosted events, including the NBA All-Star game, the Total Solar Eclipse, the Indy 500, Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, and the Big Ten Football Championship.
