SEYMOUR, Ind. – After a two-month investigation, the Seymour Police Department (SPD) has arrested a suspect in the Motel 6 armed robbery.
SPD responded to the Motel 6 location at 365 Tanger Blvd. on November 7, 2024, after the report of the crime.
On that date, witnesses advised that two males came to the motel to purchase watches from a guest. As the two males were trying the watches on, they fled the location with the watches. One of the victims chased the suspects.
During the chase, one of the suspects fell to the ground. When the victim caught up to him, the suspect displayed a firearm. The victim backed away and the suspect fled.
On Thursday, January 9, one of the suspects, Donta Jackson Jr., 18, of Indianapolis, was taken into custody. Jackson was charged with armed robbery (level 3 felony). The investigation is ongoing.
