COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management announced Wednesday morning that it had named the Bartholomew County Public Library branches in Columbus and Hope as additional warming stations.
The main library on Fifth Street in downtown Columbus is providing relief from the cold on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Hope location is open as a warming station on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Donner Center is also a warming station both days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brighter Days in Columbus is available after 5 p.m. ColumBUS routes 1 and 2 will make stops at Donner Park from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Officials ask the public to respect the rules of the facilities and remind participants that food, showers, and areas for sleep are not available at the libraries or Donner Center.
