COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus Department of Public Works reminds residents the 2024 Fall Loose Leaf Collection Program is underway. The effort to help keep the community clean is tentatively scheduled to run through the end of December.
Residents are encouraged to rake their leaves to the curb for collection on their trash day. To allow for efficient collection, leaves should be clear of all obstructions like cars, mailboxes, and other debris such as branches and decorative grass trimmings.
If you have sticks or branches, create a separate pile for the chipper collection. Do not bag leaves.
Crews are working to keep up with collection, but it is common for routes to run behind during this time due to the high volume of leaves. Leaf collection crews will work until dusk during the peak of the season to collect as much as possible. The City asks for your patience and understanding.
