COLUMBUS, Ind. – Communities in Bartholomew County will receive over $2.2 million to improve infrastructure through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Greg Walker (R-Columbus) on Thursday.
The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. In almost 10 years, the program has awarded more than $1.8 billion in state-matching funds for local construction projects.
“The funding this program provides helps improve our community and the safety of the Hoosiers living, working, and traveling through these areas,” Walker said. “I commend local leaders for applying to this valuable grant program.”
In Senate District 41, the following communities received grants:
- Bartholomew County – $150,600
- Columbus – $297,672.50
- Edinburgh – $1,483,065
- Hartsville – $204,550.95
- Hope – $112,092.04
The Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1.5 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. The next call for CCMG applications is in January 2025.
