COLUMBUS, Ind. -The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) congratulates Columbus East High School Senior Kayci Clapp on being named a 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalist.
Clapp scored in the top 1% of the state on the PSAT during her junior year, placing her among the highest-performing students in the country. The next step is to advance to become a finalist. All finalists will then compete to be a recipient of one of almost 7000 National Merit scholarships.
To become finalists, the semifinalists must submit a detailed scholarship application, It includes information about the student’s academic record, participation in school and community activities, leadership abilities, employment, and honors received. They must also have an outstanding academic record in high school, be recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT or ACT scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test.
The names of the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program finalists will be announced in February.
