ELIZABETHTOWN, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), aided by the Columbus SWAT team, executed a search warrant at a Third Street residence in Elizabethtown on Friday.
Information gathered earlier had implicated 48-year-old Christopher Henson, of Elizabethtown, in the distribution of narcotics, leading to the search. Deputies allegedly found a significant quantity of methamphetamine, plus syringes, scales, and other drug-related items at the home. While arresting Henson, investigators learned that he had a previous conviction for dealing drugs.
BCSO discovered that before he was taken into custody, the suspect ingested suspected fentanyl. Henson was transported to Columbus Regional Health for assessment and medical care.
After being cleared at the hospital, he was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail and formally charged with Dealing Meth, Possession of Meth, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Obstruction of Justice, Possession of a Syringe, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Possession of Paraphernalia. He was placed on a 72-hour detention.
This is a preliminary investigation. All persons are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
