BATESVILLE, Ind. – A 61-year-old Batesville woman has been arrested on felony charges of theft and corrupt business influence after a year-long investigation by detectives from the Indiana State Police (ISP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation into Jennifer Fullenkamp began in August 2023 when her employer, Scheele Orthodontics, reported that many payments received from patients were missing. The inquiry determined that the suspect allegedly stole thousands of dollars over several years while she worked for the practice.
Her scheme supposedly involved convincing patients to pay for services with cash in exchange for a discount on their bill. She pocketed the money and altered the computer records to conceal the theft.
After the ISP investigation, the case was presented to the Ripley County Prosecutor’s Office for review. As a result, a warrant was issued for Fullenkamp on charges of Theft (over $50,000) and Corrupt Business Influence. Both are Level 5 felonies.
She was arrested without incident last Friday and incarcerated in the Ripley County Jail, pending her initial court appearance.
