NORTH VERNON, Ind – Surf’s up. At least it will be Friday, September 13, when the popular Sounds of Summer group ride the waves at the Park Theatre Civic Centre. The Beach Boys tribute band performs in concert at the downtown North Vernon landmark at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.
The group features four North Vernon natives. Connor Ertel plays guitar/bass, Eric Wernke is the drummer, David Ertel is on keyboards, and Matt Hurley plays bass/guitar. All also sing and harmonize, just like the Beach Boys.
Their high-energy recreates over 30 classic songs by one of history’s most iconic rock-n-roll bands. The Sounds of Summer were featured on AXS-TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” show a few years ago.
“Sounds of Summer always put on a fabulous concert when they perform at our theater,” said board chair Patti Yount. “We advise people to get tickets early so they aren’t left out.”
Tickets may be purchased in advance at the theater’s box office, 25 N. Madison Ave. Only cash and checks are accepted. The box office is open from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. If still available, tickets will be sold at the door.
