COLUMBUS, Ind. – After an extensive investigation, a local man was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with possession of child pornography and child solicitation, both level 5 felonies.
The arrest is the culmination of an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation into Eric Dicken, 35, of Columbus.
ICAC investigators were alerted to Dicken’s alleged involvement in illicit sexual content by the National Institute for Missing and Exploited Children.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus Police Department joined the ICAC Task Force, a national program focused on investigating exploited children in 2024. Since joining the program this year, it is the second child exploitation arrest in Bartholomew County.
Dicken remains in custody on a 48-hour hold. This is a preliminary and ongoing investigation.
All persons are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
