WHITELAND, Ind. – The Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation (CPCSC) and The Howard Companies construction firm announced a partnership earlier this week. “After 18 months of hard work and collaboration, a ceremony was held at Whiteland Community High School (WCHS) this week where the school was presented a check for $25,000 to launch a civil construction pathway program,” says WCHS Principal, Duke Lines.
The new civil construction pathway program will begin to equip Whiteland Community High School students with the skills and credentials necessary to be employable and ready to join the workforce or continue their certifications upon graduation.
The $25,000 contribution from Howard Companies goes straight into the program to help sponsor and pay for all necessary items for the students to be successful. “We realize that students should have the opportunity to start a career path and earn college credit while in high school. This partnership allows students to earn college credit and certification while in high school to start a career immediately after graduation,” stated Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Cassandra Shipp.
“The school corporation commends Howard Companies for this visionary approach to preparing students for successful careers and we look forward to our ongoing relationship,” said CPCSC Superintendent Dr. Tim Edsell.
Several students interested in the program attended the check presentation ceremony.
