COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers were called to a traffic accident on Saturday at around 9:30 p.m., at State Road 46 (W. Jonathan Moore Pike) and Two Mile House Road.
Based on the preliminary investigation, a car driven by an 18-year-old male was eastbound on W. Jonathan Moore Pike and struck two female pedestrians in the roadway just east of the Two Mile House Road intersection.
A 68-year-old pedestrian was transported to Columbus Regional Health (CRH) with minor injuries to her leg and hip. The other pedestrian, 41, also had injuries to her leg and hip. She was initially treated at CRH but then was taken via Life Line to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
The driver was cooperative with the investigation. He did not have any injuries.
CPD’s Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene, which caused a partial roadway closure for about two hours.
