COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) made another drug arrest during a traffic stop last week. A deputy pulled over a car at U.S. 31 and N. Horizon Drive on Tuesday, July 2, just after midnight.
The vehicle committed a moving violation and had an equipment violation. The officer spokewith the two occupants and a search was conducted.
A glass smoking device with residue was allegedly located inside the car. The passenger, Marlon Cowan Jr., 48, of Columbus, supposedly told deputies that the pipe was his.
Deputies also said the suspect told them that he had methamphetamine in his pants. About 19 grams of meth was allegedly collected from his pocket.
Cowan was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the charges of possession of meth and possession of paraphernalia. He remains in custody on a $41,000 bond.
This is a preliminary investigation. All persons are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
