COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) has announced that Schmitt Elementary School has started a full refurbishing project. It is the first significant update in about 30 years.
Three new classrooms will replace the westside courtyard, and all other learning spaces will be renovated to provide a modern, enriching student environment. The demolition now taking place is in the original Harry Weese section.
These improvements are geared to enhance the learning experience and ensure that facilities meet the needs of 21st-century education. The revamping is set to be completed by the summer of 2026.
