SEYMOUR, Ind. – Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a Thrive Alliance educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools they need to care for others while caring for themselves. It is being offered free of charge in Seymour starting the last week in July.
The program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings, balance their lives, make decisions, and find helpful resources.
Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Interactive lessons, discussions, and brainstorming help caregivers take the “tools” they choose and activate them. Participants receive a copy of The Caregiver Helpbook, developed specifically for the class.
Classes are every Thursday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., from July 25 to August 29, in the Community Room of Crossroads Senior Apartments, 500 South Poplar St., in Seymour.
