NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Jennings County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently received their new ballistic vests.
The vests are the latest available in today’s technology and are designed to add more protection for law enforcement.
The new safeguarding outerwear was mostly paid for by a grant for police vests. A state statute requires that bullet-proof vests have to remain within an expiration date. In this case, it is a five-year life cycle for ballistic vests.
Deputy Sheriff Sergeant Cody Low and Sheriff Kenny Freeman are modeling the protective gear for this story.
