COLUMBUS, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) maintenance crews are scheduled to perform tree maintenance work along U.S. 31, between U.S. 50 in Seymour and E. County Road 400S near Columbus, beginning next week.
On Monday, October 2, crews will begin removing deceased, low-hanging, and invasive trees to improve safety along the corridor by reducing the risk of fallen vegetation and potential refreeze on the roadway during winter. Drivers can expect traffic control operations while the three-week project is in progress.
Seeding and the installation of pollinator habitats along the corridor will take place following the completion of tree maintenance work.
Motorists should slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and INDOT schedules are subject to change.
