COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) and the Columbus SWAT Team made two arrests at a local motel on Monday evening. Law enforcement served warrants at 3445 West Jonathan Moore Pike, in Columbus, at around 7 p.m.
Taken into custody on multiple drug-related charges were Jeremy Hedger, 44, and Ashley Parrott, 31, both of Columbus. Heroin and methamphetamine were allegedly found on Hedger’s person, while meth and suspected fentanyl were supposedly located inside their room.
Hedger and Parrott were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of stolen property, dealing heroin, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a synthetic drug, and possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, a combined unit of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department, and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office is proactively targeting the manufacturing and abuse of dangerous drugs in Columbus and Bartholomew County.
Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers said, “JNET will never stop pursuing those who are distributing and abusing dangerous drugs in Bartholomew County. Collectively, we vow to maximize our resources to succeed in this mission.”
