SOUTH-CENTRAL INDIANA – Local Hoosier community foundations in Jackson, Jennings, and Johnson Counties have named their 2023 Lilly scholars. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship provides for full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for other required materials for four years.
The scholarship is for undergraduate students studying on a full-time basis leading to a degree at any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university.
The Community Foundation of Jackson County announced its Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship recipient as Seymour High School senior Ekaterina Cox. There were nine finalists selected from 123 applicants. Jackson County has had 42 Lilly scholars since 1998.
The Jennings County Community Foundation (JCCF) named Noah McFall of Jennings County High School as its recipient. Jonathan Jones was the runner-up and receives a JCCF scholarship.
The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) named John Gries of Greenwood Community High School, Adeline Jolley of Greenwood Christian Academy, and Emma Williams of Franklin Community High School as their Lilly scholars. There were 60 applicants in the JCCF-administered program.
