TAYLORSVILLE, Ind. – UPDATE: The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office (BCCO) has identified the teen as 15-year-old Amy Rodriguez. Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting said an autopsy has been ordered and his office is working with authorities to investigate the death.
Original: The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is investigating the death of a Columbus North High School student who was found dead inside a Taylorsville residence on Monday morning.
BCSO was dispatched to a residence in the 2100 block of Tyler Dr. at around 5:30 a.m. in regards to an unresponsive 15-year-old female.
Deputies arrived along with personnel from German Township Fire Department and found the deceased student inside, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives were immediately summoned to begin a death investigation. The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office also responded and is assisting.
“At this time the investigation is ongoing and there are no further details to be released pending results from the coroner’s office,” said Sheriff Matt Myers.
Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Det. Dane Duke said, “At this time all involved parties are cooperating with the investigation.”
