COLUMBUS, Ind. – The results of the 2022 Indiana midterm election are clear for most of the county and statewide races. A few big contests in other parts of the country have not been decided.
In Bartholomew County, the voter turnout was 42.6%. On Election Day, 11,959 residents voted while 10,839 citizens voted by paper or walk-in absentee ballots.
In notable races across the U.S., Fetterman (D) has defeated Oz (R) for the Pennsylvania Senate seat while Kemp (R) beat Abrams (D) for a second time and remains the Georgia Governor. At the moment, Democrats have 48 Senators and the Republicans 47, with five contests for U.S. Senators not yet determined. Democrats lead in two of the races and Republicans in three. Control of the U.S. House of Representatives has also not been decided as the outcome of several races is still not known.
Bartholomew, Johnson, and Jennings counties have reported results.

- Erin Houchin (R) and Greg Pence (R) win U.S. Rep. races for Districts 6 and 9
- Greg Walker (R) beats Bryan Munoz (D) for State Senate District 41
- (R) Ryan Lauer defeats (D) Ross Thomas for State Rep District 59
- (R) Jim Lucas beats (D) Chad Harmon for State Rep. District 69
- (R) Jennifer Meltzer beats “Mimi” Pruett (D) for State Rep. District 73
- Republicans sweep four Bartholomew County Council Races
- Commissioner Lienhoop wins in Co. Commissioner District 2 race
- (R) Chris Lane ran unopposed and is the new Bartholomew County Sheriff
- (R) Ginny Whipple ran unopposed for Bartholomew County Assessor

- Jason Major beats Anakarina Hurtado in District 1
- Richard Stenner has defeated Roy West in District 2
- Dale Nowlin defeats Eric Grow in District 4

Jennings County
- Matt Sporleder (R) defeats Mike Coons (D) and Marshall Jenkins (I) for District 3 County Commissioner
- Mandy Creech defeats Gary Driver (D) for County Council District 2
- Kenny Freeman (R) defeats Jeff Sharp (I) for Jennings Co. Sheriff
