COLUMBUS, Ind – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’sOffice (BCSO) has announced that deputy Teancum Clark has been recognized as a National School Resource Officer (NASRO) Practitioner.
“This level of commitment identifies deputy Clark as one of our nation’s elite SROs. We are very proud to have him in our schools serving our kids and our community,” said Judy Jackson, spokesperson for BCSO.
The program was established as a way for NASRO, police agencies, and school districts to recognize officers who have excelled in the area of school-based policing.
In order to qualify as a practitioner, one must be a School Resource Officer for at least three years, complete a NASRO-approved 40-hour Basic School Resource Officer training course, and complete a NASRO-approved 24-hour Advanced SRO or Supervisors and Management training course.
Deputy Clark also had to accumulate 160 hours of specialized police in-service training and attend at least one NASRO School Safety Conference.
