COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management says a Flood Warning has been issued for Saturday until 1 p.m. for Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Shelby, Decatur, and Brown Counties.
Flooding of rivers, streams, creeks, and other low-lying locations, caused by excessive rainfall, is imminent or occurring.
At 7 a.m. on Saturday, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is expected. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.25 inches are possible in the warned area.
Some of the cities and towns in the Flood Warning area include Columbus, Franklin, Edinburgh, Greenwood, Seymour, New Whiteland, Shelbyville, Greensburg, and North Vernon.
