COLUMBUS, Ind. – An Ohio man is in custody for forgery and multiple warrants after trying to run from the police.
The Columbus Police Department (CPD) was called to a local bank in the 1900 block of 25th Street on Wednesday, March 26, at around 2:30 p.m., about a possible fraud. An employee at the bank reported that a man was there trying to cash a fraudulent check for almost $2,000.
When officers arrived, the man took off running, but after a short foot chase was quickly apprehended.
He was identified as Edward Seabolt, 48, of Columbus, Ohio. The suspect had a warrant for his arrest from Hancock County, Indiana, and two Ohio warrants.
Seabolt was evaluated and cleared at the hospital before being taken to Bartholomew County Jail. He was booked on the charges of Forgery (level 6 felony), Resisting law enforcement (A misdemeanor), a Hancock County felony warrant for counterfeiting, and two Ohio felony warrants.
