COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced Thursday that it had awarded over $200 million in Community Crossings matching grants for local road and bridge projects across 245 Indiana cities, towns, and counties.
The City of Columbus and Bartholomew County will each receive $1.5 million of that funding. Jackson County will get almost $1.5 million and Seymour will receive $1.3 million. Jennings County and North Vernon will be awarded about $1.5 million each and Brown County and Nashville will receive over $1.2 million combined. Greensburg gets $1.1 million and Decatur County receives $1.5 million.
Communities submitted applications for funding during a highly competitive call for projects in January. Community Crossings funding comes from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund. Community Crossings matching grants have provided more than $2 billion for local road improvement projects since 2016.
The list of all communities receiving matching funds in the 2025 spring call for projects is available here. Learn more about the Community Crossings matching grant program on the INDOT website.
