NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) went to a residence in the 1600 Block of Hollyton Court in the Country Squire Lakes last Thursday to try and locate Shaun Jones, 44, and Sheila Keller, 43, both of North Vernon. They were wanted on Jennings County felony warrants.
Deputies heard the female talking inside but when they knocked she would not answer the door. Officers eventually forced entry into the home, located the suspect, and detained her.
JCSO K-9 Creed accompanied deputies inside and found Jones hiding in a hidden compartment in the wall. Jones refused commands to come out so the K-9 apprehended him. The suspect battered the police dog and continued to resist the officers.
After a brief scuffle, Jones was taken into custody. As the investigation continued, JCSO said illegal narcotics were noticed in plain view in the residence. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies allegedly located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects were arrested on those charges and were taken to Jennings County Jail.
