SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department responded to the 6200 block of Northfield Drive on Tuesday at around 12:25 p.m. regarding several gunshots. When officers arrived, they took the suspect into custody. Investigators processed the scene and conducted interviews.
The investigation revealed probable cause to obtain a Jackson Superior Court 1 Search Warrant for the suspect’s apartment. During the search, authorities allegedly located marijuana, ammunition, and anabolic steroids.
Investigators believe that Kenny J. Kirchner, 48, of Seymour, became upset with someone who slipped in a parking spot where the suspect had shoveled the snow. After becoming angry, the suspect supposedly fired three shots into the air.
Kirchner was arrested for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon (level 6 felony), maintaining a common nuisance (level 6 felony), possession of a Schedule III controlled substance (level 6 felony), and possession of marijuana (Class A Misdemeanor).
