SEYMOUR, Ind. – In an effort to protect the health and well-being of patients, visitors, and staff, Schneck Medical Center has implemented visitor restrictions effective Wednesday, January 8.
The measures are being taken to help minimize the spread of illness within the facility and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Officials at Schneck Medical Center appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the community as they work to safeguard health during this time. The hospital asks for the community’s cooperation.
The following guidelines have been put into place:
- Limit on Visitors: No more than two visitors may be allowed in a patient’s room. Visitors are limited to immediate family members or significant others as identified by the patient.
- Restrictions for Symptomatic Visitors: Individuals experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness are not permitted to visit patients.
- Respiratory Illness Symptoms Include: Fever or chills, Cough, Sore throat, Fatigue, Muscle aches, Headache, Runny nose, Vomiting, or diarrhea
- Hand Hygiene Requirement: Visitors must clean their hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer before entering and after exiting patient rooms.
