LOUISVILLE – A two-day, two-state pursuit of the alleged shooter of an Orange County deputy sheriff concluded Saturday evening in Louisville. The suspect is dead.
Indiana State Police investigators and Louisville Metro Police Department officers were led to a home on Wheeler Avenue in Louisville. They were searching for Austin Dakota Schepers, the suspect in the shooting of Orange County Deputy Zac Andry early Friday morning.
Law enforcement located Schepers at the Wheeler Avenue residence. Details regarding the confrontation have not yet been released but it is known that Schepers was shot and killed at the scene by officers.
The Louisville Metro Police Department will provide more information about the encounter as the investigation continues.
There is no longer a threat to public safety regarding the manhunt for Schepers.
