NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) released information on Saturday about a 9-1-1 call received early Monday morning, December 16. Jennings County Dispatch was notified that a 15-day-old baby was choking and struggling to breathe.
The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) and JCSO responded to the residence in Country Squire Lakes. immediately began tending to the infant, and successfully cleared the restricted airway. Deputies monitored the infant until Rescue 20 arrived and took over treatment.
On Thursday evening, December 19, some of the responding JCSO and NVPD officers returned to the home to follow up with the parents and visit the infant.
Their new friend, Baby T, is doing great. The mother of Baby T said she “was very appreciative of the Jennings County Dispatchers that she spoke with on the phone and stated that they did an excellent job of trying to keep her calm in an extremely stressful situation.”
