WHITELAND, Ind. – The Whiteland Police Department (WPD) responded to 262 Country Wood Dr., in Whiteland, about a possible domestic abuse incident Tuesday night.
Upon arrival at around 9 p.m., officers began their investigation and determined from evidence at the scene and statements, that there was probable cause to arrest Herman Means, III. The accused is a police officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
He was taken into custody on charges of Domestic Battery in the presence of a Child and Strangulation.
WPD authorities say the investigation is ongoing and, at this time, no further information is to be released.
