COLUMBUS, Ind. — Downtown Columbus is about to welcome a new addition to its growing list of businesses. The butcher shop – yet to release its official name – is located at 410 Washington Street and is slated to open in early December. The shop will bring premium meats, locally sourced products, and grab-and-go lunch offerings.
The butcher shop will offer a curated selection of fresh cuts of beef, poultry, seafood, and pork, including specialty sausages. Customers can also look forward to expert services, a welcoming atmosphere, and a commitment to quality.
“Columbus is a community that values local craftsmanship and connection,” said Zarek England, Head Butcher and Proprietor. “I’m excited to see my passion and dream come to life, and to bring something unique to downtown Columbus.”
The addition of a butcher shop aligns with the ongoing efforts of The Office of Downtown Development to cultivate a dynamic and diverse downtown environment. “Businesses like Zarek’s enhance the ability of Downtown Columbus to provide an elevated consumer experience for residents and visitors,” said Ike DeClue Executive Director of The Office of Downtown Development.
An open house for the butcher shop is tentatively scheduled for December 5 and hopefully will coincide with the annual Downtown Merchant’s Association’s A Not So Silent Night holiday event. The annual Not So Silent Night event invites community members to join in holiday festivities and explore the offerings at downtown shops and businesses.
