COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) announced that Lt. Matt Harris was named the 2024 DARE Indiana Law Enforcement Executive of the Year.
The prestigious honor recognizes his exceptional commitment to educating and empowering youth in the community through the DARE program.
Lt. Harris has taught DARE for 22 years. He was nominated for the award by Officer Romero, who highlighted his dedication, leadership, and positive influence in the schools and the Columbus community.
On Thursday, November 14, Harris traveled to the Indiana State Capitol, where he was formally presented with the award. His years of teaching DARE reflect his commitment to building trust and creating a safer, stronger community.
