COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Regional Health extends its extreme gratitude to Shannon, Justin, and Libby Paul and the Bo Paul Project for their recent donations to support patients who experience infant loss.
The donations are the organization’s largest to date and included two bassinets – one for babies born stillborn at term or near term and the other for babies born stillborn at 35 weeks or earlier. Additional bedding, a rocking stand, and a CuddleCot package were also donated. The CuddleCot and CuddleBlanket provide grieving families and their loved ones the opportunity to spend time with the infant without needing to cool the entire room.
The Bo Paul Project also contributed a year’s worth of Bo Bears to the facility and trained the Birthing Center staff to fill and present them to grieving families. The bears are made to match the baby’s birth weight and provide comfort to the family. The donation had an impact on Birthing Center registered nurse Alexis Ice, whose son, Malaki, was born sleeping two years ago. “The love the Bo Paul Project provides for so many families is amazing,” she said.
“There is so much I could say about the gift Shannon and the Bo Paul Project has provided to our families!,” said CRH Birthing Center Manager, Deanna Abel. “I watched my sister and her husband navigate the unknowns associated with grief after the loss of my niece, Molly. It is devastating. This special gift offers grieving parents and siblings a profound, tangible connection to the infant they lost, helping to fill an unthinkable void with a comforting reminder of their love and presence.”
