COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Regional Health (CRH) is introducing Hello World, a new, more convenient way for patients to receive text messages from the hospital. The new platform is a Short Messaging Service (SMS) that provides more customizable, timely, and convenient communication related to various care and service options such as appointment confirmation and reminders, medication follow-ups, billing schedules, and more.
The new platform replaced CRH’s former mobile phone and text messaging service on Tuesday. Patients who had previously opted to receive text messages from Columbus Regional Health will see a new number on their mobile phone screens, inviting them to opt into the new platform. To continue receiving notifications from Columbus Regional Health, patients must opt-in to the new service.
Hello World works seamlessly with Epic MyChart; however, you do not need to be a MyChart user to sign up. Patients who have not previously received text messages from Columbus Regional Health may sign up for Hello World by texting 64693 with the word “START” or asking their care provider for assistance during their next appointment. Patients can customize their communication settings regarding language preference, subject-matter type, and frequency.
Text message and data rates may apply.
