COLUMBUS, Ind. – River Valley Legal Aid and Pro Bono Indiana are holding a free legal aid phone clinic for their eight-county district residents this Tuesday, November 12, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. You must register from noon to 2 p.m. The district includes Bartholomew, Johnson, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Rush, and Shelby Counties.
The River Valley Legal Aid/Pro Bono Indiana program uses local volunteer attorneys, offering free legal consultations to low-income individuals for legal advice to further equal access to justice within Indiana who might not otherwise be able to afford a lawyer.
Individuals calling the River Valley Legal Aid phone clinic can expect a brief consultation to answer general and eviction questions, offer legal information, or receive other limited pro se assistance.
Those seeking legal counsel during the phone clinic must register by calling 812-378-0358 on Tuesday, November 12, between noon and 2 p.m. A volunteer attorney will return calls to registered individuals from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
