HOPE, Ind. – The Students’ Fund of Hope (SFOH) is again partnering with Millers Merry Manor to bring the nursing facility’s residents some Christmas cheer with their annual Adopt a Resident. Families are asked to come together to build gift boxes for 45 patients.
This is the sixth year the SFOH and Millers Merry Manor have collaborated. The group is preparing 25 female boxes, 13 male boxes, and seven gender-neutral boxes in case the facility gets more residents before the holidays.
Gift ideas include lotions, body wash, shampoo, tissues, slipper socks, sugar-free candies, stuffed animals, or anything you believe will bring joy to a senior at the nursing home. You can even have your kids draw cards and pictures to include in the box.
Write an uplifting message on the gift tag, and deliver your Adopt a Resident box to Millers Merry Manor on December 16, from 6 to 8 p.m., or drop it off at the Student’s Fund of Hope before Dec. 16.
A list of residents can be found on the Students’ Fund of Hope Facebook page.
