COLUMBUS, Ind. – Three people were hospitalized, including a four-year-old boy, after an accident Monday afternoon. Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers and other local first responders were called to North Marr Road and East County Road 450N for a two-vehicle head-on collision around 2:45 p.m.
The initial investigation indicates an SUV, operated by a 31-year-old woman with a four-year-old boy passenger, was traveling south on N. Marr Road before the crash. The other vehicle involved, a compact SUV, driven by a 36-year-old woman, was heading north on N. Marr Road.
The driver of the southbound SUV complained of a possibly fractured arm, the four-year-old had possible internal injuries, and the driver of the northbound SUV sustained an injury to her ankle. All three were transported to Indianapolis-area hospitals. The child was last known to be in critical condition.
This is a preliminary information. The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation by CPD detectives and the Accident Reconstruction Team.
