COLUMBUS, Ind. – The latest installment of Jazz at Helen’s will have college football rejoicing and singing their favorite fight songs from around the country. The concert is scheduled for Friday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m., at Helen Haddad Hall on Franklin Street in Columbus.
“Great College Fight Songs, The Jazz Edition” is a collection of arrangements of iconic college fight songs by Sam Butler and Garrett Fasig. They both studied at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the guidance of some of the world’s finest jazz musicians and educators.
Butler and Fasig are mainstays in the Indianapolis jazz scene and are bringing fresh takes of the most well-known and recognizable themes you hear every Saturday afternoon around the country, including their alma mater of IU, and classics from around the country like Hail Purdue, LSU’s Tiger Rag, Rocky Top from Tennessee, and Ohio State’s Across the Field.”
