COLUMBUS, Ind. – Ivy Tech Community College Columbus welcomes local writers to a series of events and writing opportunities at Moravec Hall in November for National Novel Writing Month.
A challenge to empower and encourage writers of all experience levels, National Novel Writing Month helps bring focus to writing an entire novel of 50,000 words in just one month. Ivy Tech Columbus is joining the month-long challenge by offering activities and a place for writers to concentrate on their work. Viewpoint Books and Lucabe Coffee Co. are sponsoring the college’s events.
Ivy Tech Columbus Chancellor Dr. Steven Combs said, “We welcome writers to take advantage of the inspiration they can find at our Moravec Hall campus building and the chance to discuss their work with other writers.”
Activities at Ivy Tech Columbus include a kick-off event from 5-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, at Moravec Hall followed by time to write in the building from 6-10 p.m. Throughout the month, the college will host other events, including tips for typing, how to use or disengage from technology, and presentations from local authors.
Moravec Hall will be open at designated times throughout November, including set hours every weekend, for community members to come in and focus on their writing.
