COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) reminds residents who might be shooting off consumer fireworks that the state of Indiana has an ordinance for permitted dates and times for such activity.
The City of Columbus follows the state statute allowing for the use of fireworks.
The state protects these dates and times as acceptable for fireworks usage. Any firework usage outside of these date and time ranges is a local ordinance violation.
CFD wants you to have fun but urges safety.
Here is when you can use personal fireworks:
- June 29 through July 3 and July 5 through July 9, from 5 to 11 p.m.
- July 4, from 10 a.m. and Midnight
