SEYMOUR, Ind. – Interdiction and officers from the Seymour Police Department (SPD) received information on Wednesday about possible drug activity occurring at a residence in the 800 block of Windermere Dr.
They responded to the residence and talked with the occupants. During this interaction, police say they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the house so officers detained the two occupants.
A two-and-a-half-year-old was also present in the residence which officers supervised until a caretaker could arrive and assume responsibility.
A search warrant was obtained and SPD allegedly found about 16 grams of cocaine, numerous syringes, over 600 grams of marijuana, acid, and several hundred dollars of US currency.
Reid Newkirk, 26 of Seymour, was arrested for Neglect of a Dependent, Dealing in Cocaine, Dealing in Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Possession of a Syringe.
Brandy McQueen, 30 of Seymour, was booked for Neglect of a Dependent, Dealing in Cocaine, Dealing in Marijuana, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
