MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently announced that Conservation Officer Connor Christman has been selected as the 2023 District 6 Officer of the Year.
He is assigned to Morgan County and has served as a conservation officer since 2022.
District 6 includes Johnson, Bartholomew, Brown, Shelby, Hancock, Marion, Hendricks, Morgan, and Monroe counties in south-central Indiana.
The honor puts Christman up for the Pitzer Award, given to the state’s top overall DNR conservation officer and selected from the 10 district winners.
The Pitzer Award is named after Indiana Conservation Officer James D. Pitzer, who was fatally shot while investigating illegal hunting activity on January 2, 1961, in Jay County.
