BARGERSVILLE, Ind. – The Town of Bargersville celebrated its 174th birthday this week. The official anniversary was on Wednesday.
Bargersville was incorporated as the town name in 1920, replacing its original name “Old Bargersville,” which had been in existence since February 7, 1850.
It is named for the town’s first resident, Jefferson Barger.
Bargersville is now home to one of the fastest-growing communities in Johnson County, and the state of Indiana.
