INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center has announced the completion of the new indoor track inside the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion. The 200-meter, fixed bank, portable track was designed and built by Beynon Sports and Weems Engineering.
To mark the occasion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Friday, where guests were able to witness the unveiling of the state-of-the-art track for the first time.
To showcase the new facility, there are several upcoming track meets. They include the Butler Invitational on January 20, the IUPUI Invitational on Jan. 26 and 27, the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships on Jan. 27 and 28, and the Marian Invitational on Feb. 9.
Below are some of the details of the new Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion indoor track.
The competition oval:
- 6 lanes
- 12-degree banking in the turns
- 21-meter radius
- Elevated 18 inches off the ground in the straightaways and nearly 6 feet in the turns.
The Infield:
- 8-lane flat track for the sprinters and hurdlers
- 2 high jump areas
- 2 long jump/triple jump runways
- 1 pole vault runway
