SEYMOUR, Ind. — A Brownstown Police Officer was arrested on charges including battery on Wednesday.
The Seymour Police Department (SPD) responded to the 600 block of E. 7th Street, on September 23. A victim told police that she had been battered, causing her pain, in the 700 block of Hustedt Street.
After the case was reviewed by investigators, Michael Jeremy Huff, 38, of Brownstown, was taken into custody on preliminary charges of battery, a class A misdemeanor, and false informing, a class B misdemeanor. Huff was then taken to the Jackson County Jail.
The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office told investigators they intend to file charges of battery and false informing, according to police.
