COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) investigation led to the arrest of four people for human trafficking and rape. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office helped with one of the arrests.
Sheriff Chris Lane said, “I am continuously shocked at the deplorable actions of some individuals who would take advantage of and abuse others for their personal gain or desires.”
Lt. Kevin Abner led the investigation into these allegations, along with other Bartholomew County Sheriff’s detectives and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office.
The sheriff added, “I commend Lt. Abner’s dedication and leadership in this investigation. These investigations are some of the most difficult, on a personal level, for detectives to handle.”
Among those arrested:
- Brandon A. Jacobs on charges of Promotion of Human Sexual Trafficking, a Level 4 Felony, and Rape, a Level 3 Felony. Bond set at $450,000.00 or 10% cash.
- Christina Leann Moffatt on charges of Promotion of Human Sexual Trafficking, a Level 4 Felony, and Rape, a Level 3 Felony. Bond set at $450,000.00 or 10% cash.
- Christopher Scott Lovell on charges of Promotion of Human Sexual Trafficking, a Level 4 Felony, and Rape, a Level 3 Felony. Bond set at $450,000.00 or 10% cash.
- Jon A. Arnold on charges of Human Trafficking, a Level 4 Felony, and Rape, a Level 3 Felony. Bond set at $450,000.00 or 10% cash.
