FRANKLIN, Ind. – Organizers are readying for the 2023 Johnson County 4-H and Agricultural Fair which will open on Sunday, July 16, with a full schedule of events.
The first fair was in 1838 on the property of Martin Place in Franklin. It moved to U.S. 31 and State Road 144 in 1888 and has remained at that location to this day.
Opening Day will feature among other activities, a dog show, a horse and pony show, a pet parade, plus the Little Miss and Mr. Johnson County contest. The midway opens at 5 p.m., the grandstand entertainment on the opening evening is flat/dirt drags, and the Johnson County Fair Queen Contest is at 7 p.m., in the indoor arena.
The 2023 Johnson County Fair will conclude its seven-day run on Saturday, July 22.
