FRANKLIN, Ind. — Franklin Community High School (FCHS) recently hosted the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) White Lab Coat Celebration. Students who complete four courses in the program earn a white lab coat. Those who complete three courses earn a red cord to wear at graduation.
The current courses offered are Principles of Biomedical Science, Human Body Systems, Medical Interventions, and Biomedical Innovation.
Seniors at FCHS who finished their final year in the PLTW Program completed internships in the community, including shadowing internal medicine doctors and obstetrician-gynecologists at Johnson Memorial Health, working with a forensic technician at the Franklin Police Department, and observing in fast-paced environments such as the emergency room at Columbus Regional Health. Many of these students have plans to study biology on a pre-med track.
