INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced Monday that the March unemployment rates for Bartholomew and surrounding counties stayed about the same.
For Bartholomew County, the March rate was 3.0%, up from February’s 2.9%. The county reported 43,606 employed residents out of a 44,947-person labor force.
The Jennings County rate for March was 4.2%, up from 4.0% last month. Johnson County’s rate was 2.7%, down from February’s 2.8%. Jackson County had a 2.9% March rate, the same as in February.
Indiana state officials at DWD announced on Friday that the overall Hoosier unemployment rate for the month of March remained at 3.1%, identical to what it has been the whole first quarter.
